Hector Barbera began his World Championship career with the Aspar team, and after finishing runner-up in the 125 class in 2004 moved to the 250 category for five seasons. He completed the final season of the 250 category in 2009 runner-up in the championship after winning three races along with five other podium results. Jorge ‘Aspar’ Martinez placed his faith in Barbera as the sole entry on his new MotoGP™ team in 2010, and was repaid with a diligent first year from the rookie in which he scored points at every round but one with a best result of eighth at both the Le Mans and Valencia rounds. The Valencian rider continued on the Desmosedici of the Aspar Team in 2011, improving his best result with a sixth in Jerez. A move in 2012 to the Pramac Racing Team saw the Spaniard still aboard Ducati machinery for the new 1000cc class, yet a tricky bike and some big crashes made his year a challenging one. For 2013 he joined Hiroshi Aoyama on the BQR-FTR bike of Avintia Racing, ending the season 16th overall and as the team’s leading rider after scoring points in half of the races; his best results were a pair of tenth place finishes at Mugello and Laguna Seca. This year, he is partnered by French premier class rookie Mike di Meglio.




He made his World Championship debut en 2003 as a 15 year-old, finishin 28th overall in the 125 class, but he waited until the 2005 campaing for his first podium. That same season he achieved his first victory in Turkey. A superb effort riding on a factory Derbi machine for the Ajo Motorsport team in 2008 brought four victories -nine podiums in total- and the World Championship tittle. Di Meglio rode for the Aspar team in the 250cc class in 2009, ending the season eighth overal, and stayed with the team for the introduction of the Moto2 class in 2010. This year, ride the Moto2 of Tech 3. He made the switch to the Speed Up team for 2012 in the end of season we saw him substittle for Kiefer Racing in the latter rounds. For 2013 he wil be contesting on the JiR Moto2 MotoBi machine.
